NALP Foundation President & CEO Search

The NALP Foundation is seeking a new President and CEO to provide visionary leadership in support of the Foundation’s mission to improve the quality and delivery of legal services through research, education, and expansion of diversity within the legal profession.  This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to the Foundation in a highly visible role, working directly with the NALP Foundation Board of Trustees and staff, law schools, law firms, and allied organizations to make a lasting positive impact on the legal profession. 

The responsibilities of the President and CEO will include:

  • Strategic planning and forward-thinking leadership
  • Creating research initiatives in new and emerging areas of the profession
  • Developing strong alliances with industry-leading groups and organizations
  • Identifying and stewarding key constituents and planning and executing fundraising and development initiatives
  • Managing financial administration and fiscal accountability for a significant budget
  • Raising the profile of the organization through public speaking, educational programming, media relations, and publications
  • Leading a dynamic team

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have at least 10 years of prior experience at a law firm, law school, or other legal organization(s).  They should have a proven track record of successful leadership, setting strategic direction, developing relationships, directing fundraising, managing budgets, and effecting change. Candidates must also demonstrate superior oral and written communication skills with a management style that encourages collaboration, problem solving, innovation, and accountability. The ideal candidate will have at least 5-7 years of experience in a senior leadership/executive role and some experience serving on or working closely with a Board of Directors.  Candidates who are passionate about the opportunity to influence and to effect meaningful change in the legal profession are encouraged to apply.
